I wrote a post about how Vinted works, and I suggest you read it because it might be useful for you. Today, however, let's see how to sell on Vinted quickly, but I warn you that the advice I will give you may not be to your liking. Let's put it this way: an ambassador does not bear pain, don't hate me but trust me.

Let's start with a consideration: you can sell well on Vinted, as long as you can patiently wait for the right buyer. It would also be wise to have the right items, but it happens that objects you wouldn't have given a dime for are instead thriving on the app. The problem arises when you need to sell on Vinted quickly, perhaps because you are trying to scrape together something for Christmas gifts or for some other expense. In that case, you have only two ways to achieve your goal: sell at a loss and pay Vinted to promote your wardrobe, preferably both together.

By now, I've lost count of the people who, seeing the turnover of my Vinted wardrobe, told me, "But I can't sell anything on Vinted!" and, almost invariably, either had prices that were too high or had never promoted their items. Now, it may be that advertising is my profession, but let me tell you one thing: we live in an overcrowded world, where attracting others' attention is very difficult. Moreover, most of us have found ourselves thrown into a capitalist world without the means to counter it (that's also why I talk about bradimalism): we have a lot of items, we feel they are suffocating us, and understandably, we don't want to buy more, but rather prefer to sell what we have. This applies to part of us, but there are still many people who have not yet made this leap in awareness and continue to accumulate. However, due to the economic crisis, they are constantly decreasing, and that’s why to have a better chance of reaching them, it’s beneficial to promote our Vinted wardrobe or boost our items. Now, let me explain the difference.

How Vinted's Featured Wardrobe Works

Like social media, Vinted is based on an algorithm. If you’re wondering why you see some content before others, know that there are countless variables. From the seller's account reputation, to the reactions received for a certain item (for example: it also includes the time a person spends viewing it, so I always recommend putting many photos and making an effort to write a few lines of description), to the people who add it to their favorites and a number of other things. By promoting your Vinted wardrobe, you bypass this: if someone searches for "white shirt" and you have just listed a white shirt for sale, they will see yours first (or that of others selling a white shirt who have featured their wardrobe).

But how do you feature your wardrobe? By going to your profile, there’s a big button in plain sight (Vinted loves to make money...), you pay 6.95 euros, and it’s done. Note that if you have already sold something on Vinted, you can draw from your balance, so in fact, you have no expense in your bank account. If, like me, you see Vinted as a way to lighten your wardrobe rather than a way to earn money, just sell at least one item for 7 euros for each promotion to avoid a loss (for me, for example, this has never happened; the promotion has always paid off). Anyway, I recommend promoting even if you want to earn quickly because otherwise, your visibility will be very limited.

Naturally, there will come a time when everyone will notice this, and at that point, featuring your wardrobe will no longer work. At that moment, it will be time to change apps, although among those I have tried, Vinted is truly the most convenient.

How Boosts Work on Vinted

Unlike the featured wardrobe, the boost applies to a single item. For this reason, it costs much less, but I can’t give you a precise price because it depends on how much the item costs. To give you an idea, boosting an item priced at 15 euros costs 0.98 euros for three days and 1.75 euros for seven days.

For now, I’m not a big fan of this service: I used the boost on two items, and yes, the views and saves increased (saving is when someone adds your item to their favorites, but it doesn’t mean they will buy it, and in fact, people seriously intending to buy usually do so immediately), but I couldn’t sell the items. If I only considered the boosts and not the overall balance, I would have gone into the negative. In any case, this is just my partial experience; it doesn’t mean it’s the same for everyone, and certainly, if you’re lucky and the item interests thanks to the boost, you will be able to sell it quickly.

The Key Word: Low Prices

I mentioned this in the last post: Vinted is affectionately nicknamed Svinted because to sell something, you have to discount it significantly from the starting price. For this reason, clearly, I wouldn’t use it to sell a Chanel bag (if only I had one, I wouldn’t sell it even under torture, but let’s pretend!), but that Stradivarius sweater I paid 29.90, even though it’s perfect, I would struggle to sell it for 5 euros. As I said before, Vinted works well if you want to empty your closets without guilt while also making some money; if you have a high budget goal, it’s better to leave it alone.

Sure, you can also try to list the Stradivarius sweater for 15 euros, but you need to have time: maybe one day someone will appear who wants exactly that knitted sweater in that way and wants it in that color (if the color is basic, like white or black, I confirm the 5 euros, but even less!), but if your goal is to sell quickly on Vinted, I recommend you abandon this route.

Here you go, Bradipi, these were all my tips. I remind you that you can visit me on Vinted to see how much I list the items I sell, or even to buy something, you never know!
