Vacuuming is one of those household tasks that comes up relatively frequently – for us at least once a week and as needed. Until now, we have been using a classic corded vacuum cleaner. However, I recently had the opportunity to test a cordless vacuum cleaner for the first time, the Sifuplex VSF13.

What my experiences with it are like and whether I can recommend it to you, you will find out in this article!

The Cordless Vacuum Cleaner VSF13

The company Sifuplex belongs to KU Europe GmbH and produces various household appliances made in Germany. The cordless vacuum cleaner VSF13* currently costs 197€, which is significantly cheaper than similar models from other manufacturers.

The scope of delivery includes the body, the battery with charger, the floor nozzle, and a wall mount, as well as two small nozzles: a crevice nozzle with an optional retractable brush and a short round brush. Unfortunately, a upholstery brush is not included, but I was able to remove dog hair from the sofa quite well with the short round brush.

You simply connect the individual parts via a plug-in system – click and done.

Charging Time

Before you can get started, the battery needs to be charged. To do this, you first plug it into the vacuum cleaner and then connect the charging cable. The manual specifically points out that the battery should not be charged outside of the vacuum cleaner.

It takes about 5 hours for the battery to be fully charged.

How Loud is the Vacuum Cleaner?

When you turn it on, one thing stands out pleasantly: the volume. Compared to our corded vacuum cleaner, the Sifuplex, with its 66dB, is pleasantly quiet, and you don't feel like you're standing next to a starting jet.

Handling

I was initially skeptical about whether I would manage with the weight. Due to my MS, I sometimes run out of strength prematurely. With a corded vacuum cleaner, the body stands on the ground, so you only have to hold up the suction tube. However, with a cordless vacuum cleaner like the Sifuplex, you have to hold up the entire device.

I was positively surprised here: the low weight is super easy to handle. I was even able to easily get rid of a spider web up on the wall.

Additionally, the floor vacuum glides very smoothly over vinyl, tiles, and carpets. This makes vacuuming really relaxed.

Well, the smooth gliding is partly due to the suction power. Here, I notice a significant difference compared to my corded vacuum cleaner. It sucks so strongly that vacuuming can sometimes be quite laborious. However, it does manage a lot. The Sifuplex has bravely held its own with its 250 watts, but it found its match: those small fruit remnants that birch trees lose in the fall. They fly through our window with every gust of wind, and those that have remained in the slightly rough joints of the bathroom tiles unfortunately resisted the Sifuplex.

The floor nozzle is slightly narrower than I am used to. This means you have to make a few more passes, but that can be done easily. However, this becomes noticeable with large areas, as you will be at it longer.

Speaking of easy: the joint at the front is very smooth, allowing you to maneuver the vacuum into all angles. However, when pushing it straight, it can veer off course if you don't push it exactly in the center.

Practical is that the suction tube can be bent in the middle: this means dirt has no chance in corners and under the sofa!

A clever feature is the LED lights at the front of the floor nozzle. I didn't think they would be so practical! Especially in corners where not much light reaches, they are really helpful. For example, under the sink in the bathroom:

It would be great if the other nozzles also had LED lights – because you tend not to vacuum dark, tight corners like under the stairs with the floor vacuum.

How Long Does the Battery Last?

We live on three floors, each about 70m2 in size. As always, I started on the upper floor, then worked my way down the stairs to the ground floor, and wanted to vacuum the basement stairs and the basement as well. Unfortunately, the battery temporarily let me down – after about 2/3 of the ground floor, it gave out.

That day, I found it quite annoying because I always do the vacuuming during my lunch break on Wednesdays. In the afternoon, my roommate's daughter is responsible for mopping. So the plan was somewhat thrown out the window, and I had to wait a few hours. However, if you know this, you can plan accordingly.

Converting to a Handheld Vacuum Cleaner

A really cool feature is that you can quickly transform the vacuum cleaner from a floor vacuum into a small handheld vacuum cleaner: just detach the long suction tube and click one of the two nozzles onto the body instead.

This is great for vacuuming sofas or, for example, window sills (as I said – a lot of small debris is currently being blown in from the trees).

Bagless Cleaning

I love bagless vacuum cleaners! They simply save unnecessary additional waste.

The container here has a 0.6l capacity, which is not too large. I would say it is more than enough for a normal apartment. However, we have a shedding dog, Bonnie, and therefore it fills up quite quickly. When the battery gave out, I took that as an opportunity to empty the container, which had already reached its maximum fill level before I had even finished vacuuming two floors.

Cleaning the container works like this: you detach the suction tube, carry the body to the trash can, and open its bottom flap. Then the dirt falls out. Theoretically at least – since there are only a few millimeters between the filter and the wall, several clumps of dog hair had gotten stuck in mine, and I had to poke around with my fingers to get everything out. This is naturally not very pleasant.

Cleaning & Maintenance of the Sifuplex VSF13

In addition to regular emptying, a little regular maintenance helps ensure that your Sifuplex maintains its full performance in the long run.

With a brush, you can get the filter really clean. You should clean it regularly because a clogged filter noticeably reduces suction power. I would recommend doing this about once a month – or more often if, like us, there are many pet hairs involved.

Hair and threads can also accumulate and get tangled in the nozzles or in the tube, especially around the floor nozzle. A quick check after vacuuming keeps the performance consistent.

In general, I always wipe the exterior of my vacuum cleaners with a damp cloth from time to time because it is somewhat ironic if the vacuum cleaner itself gets dusty and becomes dirty over time.

Cordless Vacuum Cleaner vs. Corded Vacuum Cleaner Comparison

For those who, like me, have worked with a classic corded vacuum cleaner for years, the question naturally arises: Is it worth switching – or at least supplementing?

The biggest advantage of the cordless vacuum cleaner is clear: no cord. It sounds trivial, but it makes a real difference, especially if you live on multiple floors like we do or if there are not many outlets in your home – this is often the case in older apartments.

Additionally, the weight makes the Sifuplex significantly more pleasant to handle.

On the other hand, a corded vacuum cleaner usually simply has more suction power, and you are not dependent on how long the battery lasts.

You can make your life easier, like I did, by combining the best of both worlds: I now use both a corded and a cordless vacuum cleaner, and they complement each other perfectly! The corded vacuum cleaner is used for weekly deep cleaning, while the cordless vacuum cleaner is used in between when I just want to quickly vacuum the hallway or the living room. As I said, Bonnie sheds quite a bit, and we also unfortunately bring various bedding crumbs and co. into the house from the horse stable.

Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

❌ Cons

Cordless – ideal for stairs and multiple floors Battery not sufficient for very large living areas

Pleasantly quiet (66 dB) Small container (0.6 l) – fills up quickly with pets

Light and easy to handle Container emptying a bit fiddly with pet hair

Clever LED lights on the floor nozzle No LED light on the other nozzles

Conversion to handheld vacuum in seconds Floor nozzle slightly narrower than usual

Bagless – less waste Charging time about 5 hours

Good price-performance ratio (currently 197 €) 30-day guarantee – after that manufacturer support needed

Areas of Use: Who is the VSF13 Suitable For?

A handy cordless vacuum cleaner is practical wherever you do not have enough outlets available and do not want to lug around a heavy vacuum cleaner – for example, on stairs. In our case, I can reach halfway up the stairs with the cord from one floor, but it is much easier to be able to go freely without being tethered.

There is something to be said for being able to go from one floor to another without the annoying unplugging and not having to carry a heavy block up and down the stairs.

If you have shedding pets like we do and also have many square meters to cover, the device unfortunately reaches its limits.

For “normal” apartments, the Sifuplex VSF13 is a great choice, especially due to the price-performance ratio! If you want to see for yourself, you can do so risk-free with the 30-day money-back guarantee.

Addendum: Frequently Asked Questions about Sifuplex

In recent weeks and months, I have received numerous questions about complaints, product support, or similar. Unfortunately, I am not the right contact person – I do not work for the manufacturer of the Sifuplex; I have only tested the device.

However, the manufacturer's website has a contact form through which you can reach Sifuplex's customer service.

Can the battery of the Sifuplex VSF13 be replaced?

I cannot say anything from personal experience – I would recommend asking the manufacturer directly via the contact form on the Sifuplex website.
