As you may know if you follow me on YouTube, I have a deep passion for fragrances. At first, it was complicated to reconcile this with my minimalist lifestyle, but with a bit of practice, I have almost managed to reach the number of fragrances that I believe makes me feel serene: five (currently, I have nine open).
One of my projects is to further explore the world of niche fragrances: so far, I have tried some from Diptyque and Fragonard, but I was hindered by the fact that they are quite expensive. In reality, upon further reflection, I realized that this aligns very well with minimalism: buy less, buy better. Clearly, with the prices of niche fragrances, I am unlikely to find myself overwhelmed as I did with classic perfumes (whose prices are dangerously approaching those of niche fragrances, and in my opinion, they are not worth it...) and I will probably become more attached to them, especially since they change significantly when in contact with each person's skin, making it difficult to find someone with the same fragrance.

Where to Find Low-Cost and Original Niche Fragrances
In Padua, there is an excellent historic perfumery that also carries niche fragrances and offers a 20% discount: it’s called Beghin, and I have been going there with my mom since I was little. However, there is also a way to get them in travel size for 17.95 euros (but if you reach the end of this article, you will find out how to get one super discounted!). Having the travel version of niche fragrances is a huge advantage because niche brands usually do not tend to produce small formats (you surely know this if you want to take various fragrances on vacation but have to fly!), so the website for low-cost niche fragrances that I am about to mention is a great opportunity, especially since if you like a fragrance, you can purchase it directly there in retail size.
The website where you can obtain original and low-cost niche fragrances is called Pafory. It’s a German site (in fact, they have a terrible automatic translation, but we won’t be formal about it, right?) where you can subscribe monthly to receive low-cost niche fragrances in 8 ml sizes. There are various subscription options: one fragrance for 17.95 euros a month, two for 32 euros, and three for 45 euros. With your first order, they send you a free fragrance holder, where you will place the vials they send you monthly. If I have already convinced you, remember to enter the code BRADI55 at checkout to get your first fragrance with a 55% discount!
How to Choose Fragrances
When you log into the site, they give you a questionnaire to suggest fragrances that suit your taste to include in your subscription queue (the order in which you will receive the niche fragrances, in fact, is decided by you!). They ask you on what occasion you want to wear it, what type of fragrance you like (floral? fruity? spicy? fresh?), and how intense you want it. At that point, they give you suggestions, and yes, I admit I chose based on the bottle: if I were to buy a 100ml niche fragrance, I would want a designer bottle, especially since I also use them as decorative items!
On Pafory, you can find well-known brands like Le Galion, Initio, Nobile 1942, Laboratorio Olfattivo, Lorenzo Villoresi, Molinard, Nishane and others I had never heard of. Unfortunately, my beloved Diptyque is missing, but it still seems like a great site to try and discover new fragrances that fit everyone’s olfactory preferences!
In this video, I also explain how the site works, and I tell you why, in my opinion, this purchasing model is perfect for minimalism!
Some Tips
You can also choose not to subscribe and buy low-cost niche fragrances one-off, but 8ml would cost 19.95 euros. The subscription can be paused whenever you want, and you can also cancel it by sending an email. In this regard, I recommend using PayPal as a payment method: I use it for all my subscriptions because you can block payments if you cancel the subscription, but the system of the hosting site is not cooperative, while with a credit card, the procedure is much more complicated. With PayPal, you send the email to cancel the service and stop the payments; if they send them anyway, that’s their problem. Personally, I have already contacted customer service once, and they were very helpful, but when shopping online, it’s always better to be cautious, especially with a subscription!
Discount Code
As I mentioned, I have a 55% discount code for your first order. Just go to Pafory and enter BRADI55 at checkout (everything is explained in the video above).
In this video, I review the first two fragrances I tried when the site was still called Yuniq.
Points Collection
In addition to discount codes, there is also a points program for every purchase you make. This is particularly beneficial if you find the fragrance of your life and want to buy it in retail size: however, earning points is not very easy. To give you a sense of scale, for every euro you spend, you earn one point, and at 1000 points, you get 10 euros off a purchase of at least 50 euros. There are also other ways to earn points, for example, with a subscription, you get 100 points, and also with a review on the site, so ideally, every 10 months, you can get 10 euros off. It could be better, but let’s not complain!
If you feel like trying Pafory, let me know in the comments how you found it: I care! Oh, I recently activated the Freebie section: subscribe to the newsletter for access, and if you like, follow me on my minimalist profile on Instagram! Talk to you soon, take your time, sloth, in the next article!
